Today for the first time this year we have the windows open and the ceiling fans running full blast. It may make it to 70 today and that will be so very wonderful. We have had a long wet and cold winter, it is time as far as I am concerned for spring to get busy. I can not wait for the hummingbirds to arrive and the flowers to bloom again. We talked today about when to put out the hummingbird feeder, I am of the opion that sooner is better than later, last year it was so late we only had a couple of hummingbird at the feeder, we really like to sit out on the swing and watch the hummingbirds, it makes a drab day so much better to see the little birds, they make me happy and that is not a bad thing at all.

As winter comes to a close, the one time of year that I really enjoy is spring. Spring to me means fishing, baseball and camping. With baseball season right around the corner, I start to think of trips to ballparks we have never been to, I really wanted to make it to Yankee Staduim before they tore it down, but we missed out on that trip. Now Fenway Park is next on the list. We have been to Wrigly Staduim and now I want to go to Fenway, not to see the red sox but to see the ball park. I can not wait for baseball season.

It was reported today that the groundhog in Pennsylvania saw his shadow, that means we will have six more weeks of winter. I am not sure I can stand six more weeks of this crap, we have had more snow wind and ice than the law allows. I am so ready for spring to get here. I even got out my flip flops and wore them around inside the house to get them ready for the sand and sun that is coming, at least I hope it is coming soon. We live right by the lake here in Nashville and I can not wait for the water to get warm enough to take the dogs and the grandson camping and fishing.

Today I went to the fireworks stand in the next county and bought some fireworks for the Fourth of July. Of course they are illegal here in Davidson County, but we will shoot off a few and have a little fun and hope we do not get grabbed by the cops. I know when I was a kid you could shoot fireworks everywhere and we did for weeks after the holiday. We fired off the firecrackers until we ran out and then we cried because we were out of the fun fire sticks. It was fun to be a kid 30 years ago and I wish it was that fun again for the kids.

This is one of the busiest weeks of the year even with really nothing going on we have been very busy. At work and here at home we have been swamped with a list of stuff to get done and almost no spare time to get any odd jobs done. The propane bottle for my grill has been empty for a week now and no time to go get it filled. I have a trailer load of crap that other people keep loading on my trailer, I need it cleaned off so I can load up my motorcycle to haul it to the shop for repairs so I can ride it when i have free time. It just never ends.
