Today I went to the fireworks stand in the next county and bought some fireworks for the Fourth of July. Of course they are illegal here in Davidson County, but we will shoot off a few and have a little fun and hope we do not get grabbed by the cops. I know when I was a kid you could shoot fireworks everywhere and we did for weeks after the holiday. We fired off the firecrackers until we ran out and then we cried because we were out of the fun fire sticks. It was fun to be a kid 30 years ago and I wish it was that fun again for the kids.

This is one of the busiest weeks of the year even with really nothing going on we have been very busy. At work and here at home we have been swamped with a list of stuff to get done and almost no spare time to get any odd jobs done. The propane bottle for my grill has been empty for a week now and no time to go get it filled. I have a trailer load of crap that other people keep loading on my trailer, I need it cleaned off so I can load up my motorcycle to haul it to the shop for repairs so I can ride it when i have free time. It just never ends.

It is beginning to look like the Nashville Predators will not be able to resign Steve Sullivan, again the team fails to keep the pieces that have made us a playoff team. Maybe it is time to get rid of the General Manager who can not keep the team together and focus on keeping the team strong, I know he is under a budget but get it done already, we the fans grow restless and demand progress on keeping this team together. I would be ok if they got rid of Jason Arnott if that is what it takes to keep Sully get it done already.

We will be going downtown this afternoon to see some of the free shows that are going on down there in conjunction to the CMA Music Festival. Every year they seems to have a much better show schedule than they did the year before. I am interested in seeing some of the new talent in country music along with some of the super stars of days gone by including the Oak Ridge Boys who I saw in concert many years ago at the Kansas State Fair, then I saw then last year at the Grand Old Opry, they have not changed a lot and still put on a great show. I can not wait.

It sure looks like the damn Detroit Red Wings are going to win the Stanley Cup again. The Pittsburgh Penguins won game three last night but the Red Wings look strong and it will be a mighty effort for the Penguins to win the series. I am rooting for the Penguins and I hope they win but it looks bleak so far. I can not wait for the next season to get started I am very excited to see the team that the Nashville Predators puts on the ice.
